Update: Alberta Health Services says physician coverage has been secured and the emergency room will open at 10 a.m. on July 11.
The emergency room in the Milk River Health Centre is closed until Thursday. It closed on July 9 at 5 p.m. and Alberta Health Services says it will open again at 5 p.m. on July 13.
Nursing staff remain on site to care for long term residents and EMS calls are being rerouted to Lethbridge and Raymond.
“AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time,” reads a news release from AHS. “Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.”
