County releases public survey to help create a new plan for the local economy

A new public survey has been launched by Lethbridge County to help map the future of the local economy.

According to the county, council and administration are looking for residents’ feedback as they create a new Economic Development Strategy, which will direct the municipality’s activities in the coming years. The online survey is seven questions long and will ask residents to identify the county’s strengths, along with areas for opportunity to grow.

Reeve Tory Campbell says council’s focus is on supporting and encouraging sustainable and responsible economic growth.

“We strongly encourage the public to get involved in this process as we work to create a strategy that will benefit Lethbridge County for generations to come,” Campbell says. “Lethbridge County is in a strong position to further grow our economy.”

He adds that residents taking the survey and giving feedback will help councillors understand what priorities and challenges are important to the community, which will help council make informed decisions impacting the local economy.

Along with the online survey, which will be open until August 15, the county will also host focus groups on August 16 and 17. According to the county, those interested in signing up for the focus groups can do so at the end of the survey.

Answers from the public feedback will be used to create the County’s Economic Development Strategy, which is expected to be completed later in 2023.
