The games will be held from July 15-23 in Nova Scotia and there will be competitions in 16 sports within 21 venues across Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth, Millbrook First Nation and Sipekne’katik.

There are 44 participants from Lethbridge and area, six coaches and one manager, according to Lethbridge Sport Council.

Participants are heading to the games from communities including Brocket, Cardston, Claresholm, Coalhurst, Fort Macleod, Glenwood, Hill Spring, Lethbridge, Mountain View, Pincher Creek and Stand Off.

Susan Eymann, executive director of Lethbridge Sport Council says she is very proud of the athletes and coaches representing the region.

“It’s a testament to their dedication, talent and cultural pride. As they step onto the grand stage of the games, they carry with them the hopes, dreams and aspirations of their community,” she says.

The games will bring together more than 5,000 athletes, coaches and team staff from more than 750 Indigenous nations. The games are held every four years and are for Indigenous youth between 13 and 19 years old.
