Tips and tricks for navigating Lethbridge International Airshow

The Lethbridge International Airshow takes flight this weekend and the City of Lethbridge has released some tips for those attending and or live in the area.

Residents can expect to see planes, helicopters, and more throughout the duration of the weekend and will hear loud noises overhead, not just near the airport.

When it comes to traffic, drivers can expect some delays throughout the city, especially in the area of the airport. Drivers are reminded to drive carefully and be patient. The Airshow has coordinated a free parking and shuttle service from Lethbridge College at the east end of Lot E and it will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. General parking at the airport will begin at 8 a.m. with gates opening at 9 a.m.

There is no smoking permitted anywhere on the airfield, pets are also not permitted with the exception of service animals. Any food items should be disposed of in the appropriate manner to avoid wildlife being attracted to the airport.

For residents who are travelling, any scheduled flights won’t be impacted by the airshow, but travellers should allow for extra time to arrive and prepare for flights.

The Lethbridge International Airshow kicks off on Saturday at 9 a.m. and will have various sights in the sky as well as monster truck rides, a food truck fair, market and a kids zone. Tickets and more information can be found on the event website.
