The ambulatory care clinic at Piyami Health Centre in Picture Butte will close in October.
Alberta Health Services says the closure will not affect other AHS services at the location, including laboratory and diagnostic imaging.
“The ambulatory clinic is only a portion of the overall facility, which also includes seniors housing, supportive living, home care, allied health and public health,” reads a news release from AHS.
It will close on Oct. 15 and there will be a community engagement session mid-September.
AHS says it is working to recruit two new physicians to the community to support primary care in the area
“The community of Picture Butte has been served by the Piyami Health Centre for more than 15 years and the Picture Butte Health Centre before that,” the news release says. “AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need.”
