UPDATE: Picture Butte catholic school reopening after flooding

UPDATE #2: The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division says classes will resume on Jan. 17.

UPDATE: St. Catherine School will be closed Tuesday, January 16th. According to the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, the closure is due to flooding caused by one of the water mains in the schools office burst. In a statement the division says as soon as the situation happened school administration called first responders who were able to get the situation under control. The flooding affected the schools main office, front hallway and a portion of classrooms and officials say these areas still need tome to dry. The school is expected to re-open to students on Wednesday, January 17th.

Flooding of St. Catherine’s School in Picture Butte has prompted a request from school administration for parents and guardians to pick up their kids.

According to a social media post from the school one of the water mains in the office burst Monday, January 15th and has flooded a significant amount of the school. Parents are being advised this is considered an emergent situation.
