Nominations are open for the 2024 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards to recognize volunteers making a lasting impact in their communities. The awards highlight and recognize volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of Albertans. Two awards are given in each category, which includes Youth (up to 24 years of age), Adult and Senior.Â
In addition, the Breaking Barriers category recognizes exceptional volunteers who are working to create diverse and inclusive communities. Three awards are presented in this category to individuals who are working to end racism, advocating for inclusion and fighting gender discrimination in their communities.Â
The Stars of Alberta Award winners are celebrated annually, on or around International Volunteer Day Dec. 5.Â
Albertans are encouraged to submit nominations online. The deadline for nominations is June 30.Â
