Lethbridge students tasked with naming the new fleet of waste, recycling, organics collection trucks

Lethbridge students are needed to help name the new fleet of waste, recycling, and organic collection.

The City of Lethbridge is introducing the new curbside organics pickup for those that already have the blue and black bin collection service. In honour of the new roll out set to start within the next few weeks, the city is looking for students to help name the new fleet of trucks.

Residents looking to submit their child’s entry can do so by scanning, or taking a photo of the colouring page with their child’s name, grade, school and the names of the garbage, recycling and organic trucks, and send them to [email protected].

The rules for the truck naming contest are simple, the person must be a Lethbridge student—elementary, middle or school school, details must be completed in full on the colouring sheet, the name should be creative, fun, unique and checked against other possible uses or meanings, preferably a short, easy to pronounce and easy to remember, easily identifiable as a garbage, recycling, or organics collection truck, not named after a person, and should have no trademark implications.

All entries are to be submitted by end of day on Sunday, April 2nd.
