Doggy ‘Doo Doo Crew’ to the rescue

The City of Lethbridge says your dog’s mess is your responsibility, “no matter where they do their doo doo.” In the words of beloved Great Dane Scooby Doo, “ruh roh.”

The City would like to remind dog owners there is no “poop fairy,” no matter what your teenager, tasked with the job of cleaning it up says.

In preparation for Dog Waste Awareness Month in June, the City will be holding five dog park cleanups.

Join in every Thursday in May from 6-8 p.m. to raise community awareness around the importance of picking up after your pet.

“Doo doo crews” will be at the following locations: May 2 at the Scenic Drive Dog Run, May 9 at the Popson Park Off Leash area, May 16 at the Riverstone Dog Park, May 23 at the Peenaquim Park Off Leash area and May 30 at the Park ‘n’ Bark.

“Volunteers will help remove dog waste and leave a flag in its place to magnify the prevalence of this issue. These flags will stay up for two weeks to help educate the public on this issue,” according to the City.

Gloves and bags will be provided.
